prowatercraft-faq

  • How do these sponsons compare to the Fattie front sponsons?
The Fattie front sponsons were designed to be a bit wider for straight line stability and more rider friendly, making turning smoother. The Performance front sponsons were designed for a more aggressive turning for buoy riding and racing. Both options will make your ski more stable.
  • What’s the difference between the HFC and fiberglass sponsons?
Our HFC front sponsons are more cost effective and more durable compared to the fiberglass which can delaminate and stress crack.
  • Do the PWR sponsons make the difference?
Yes, these are not another copy of someone’s design. This product was made by the Pros that demanded more stability and grip. We have seen this same design helps all rider levels to evolve their style and performance.
  • Are these front sponsons paintable?
Yes. We recommend keeping the surface a matte / flat finish to keep the handling of the sponsons predictable. A lot of the performance comes from the standard flat finish on our sponsons.
  • Do you offer options for side exhausts?
Yes, but only for the Kawasaki 550 at this time, see the install pictures above. Other standup ski models and exhaust outlets will require modification to the sponson (voids the warranty) or relocation of the exhaust port.
  • Is this part legal to race with?
You will need to check the rules from your racing organization to verify if this part is legal for competition. ProWatercraft takes no responsibility if you are disqualified from this part breaking any racing organization rules.

I am very pleased with this part. Those guys did a great Job, as usual with shipping Internationally. I have 2 skis (SXR) with 2 diferent Sponsons (Blowsion and Prowatercraft). Both are good , but habdle different . I like the ProWatercraft better because you have much more control when curving…a good way of describing it “You find it instead of it finds you”….
My SXR is much more easier on turning and even strach line then a stock boat for sure! It defenitely worth the money!

  2. Deegan Newton (verified owner)

I put these sponsons on my Sxi Pro, and made it feel like a completely different ski…
They made the ski feel way more stable at high speeds,. I am also able to hit the turns at high speed without the ski slipping out, and the sponsons reduced the front from wanting to dive into the water.
    Awesome product!!!

  3. Pete

I ordered two sets for my sn and 650sx. Worked out great on both. Install was easy and the directions/YouTube video were great. I would highly recommend.

  4. Brian

Wow! Wow! Wow! I have a Kawasaki 96 sxi with quite a few mods. These are hands down the best mod you can put on a kawi 750. I was thinking of selling my ski to get an 800sxr…. NOT ANY MORE! Handles like a carving machine and much more stable. Great product. Install took about 1 he and easy.

  5. Adam Leech

These are a must have on any 440/550! Night and day difference! If you can only put one part on your ski this has got to be it!

  6. Kevin Knopf

Just put these on my 550SX and could definitely tell a difference! Awesome products as always from ProWatercraft!

  7. Shannon B.

I have two 550’s. I tried these out on one. It is so much more fun to ride with these sponsons. The ski dose not porpus as much and it has a very controllable roll as you turn. Plus it keeps the front end from diving under in a corner. Hands down the best mod for a 550. I am going to bye another set for my second ski. Just wish they were white. But who cares when they make it so much fun..

  8. Ryan McIntyre (verified owner)

INCREDIBLE! Completely transforms the 550 into a modern handling ski, stable in any condition, consistent every corner, and locked in. A set of these paired with a set of sponsons on the rear improves the stability so much that a stock 550 isn’t fast enough to overrun the hull.
