Kawasaki SXR 1500 Rear Sponsons
$379.00
Aftermarket rear sponsons replacement that improves rear grip and stability of your SXR 1500. We recommend installing with our proven silicone adhesive.
Description
The HFC SXR 1500 rear sponsons by Pro Watercraft are our newest in a line of cost-effective handling components. This sponson was designed to replace the OEM sponson and elevate the overall handling of the Kawasaki SXR 1500. This rear sponson is meant for all around use and a wide variety of conditions. Its primary function is to increase the stability of the ski, and provide more grip. After installing, you should see more straight line stability, smoother cornering, and elevated grip.
Hardware is not included. You need to use your OEM hardware which is M6 x 30mm. We recommend installing with our proven silicone adhesive for the optimal performance.
- This product fits: SXR 1500 (all years)
- Install time: 20-30 mins.
- Are these hard to install?
These are arguably our easiest to install sponsons. They use the original hardware (M6 x 30mm) and mounting holes from the stock sponsons. All you have to do is remove the stock sponsons and bolt ours up. If you choose to use our proven silicone adhesive, you will fill in the gap between the sponson and hull. - How are these different than the double-blade Pro Watercraft sponsons?
The double blade sponsons were designed with carving in mind with the deep rear sponsons and integrated mid sponsons. The SXR 1500 is a big boat to turn, and the double blade sponson is perfect for shredding turns. This HFC rear sponson is our cost effective, all-around option which reduces chine walking and uprights you out of every corner. - Is this part legal to race with?
You will need to check the rules from your racing organization to verify if this part is legal for competition. ProWatercraft takes no responsibility if you are disqualified from this part breaking any racing organization rules.

These are a night and day difference. Better stability through chop, or sitting idle or standing/kneeing on the ski. A huuuuuge difference in how well the ski turns and handles. Also helped with a issue of the ski feeling like is sliding on top of the water when your riding glass (like you hit black ice) is reduce significantly.

The stability and handling is greatly improved, it will grip and hold through the turns at all speeds. No more death wobbles. Best investment I have made for my SXR, super easy install too. Highly recommend!!!

Day 1 with the rear sponsons and they definitely stabilized my sxr especially at speed. Low speed stability and grip turning vastly improved as well. Can’t wait to really get a feel for em.

I Just purchased these rear sponsons, they are working great for what I needed, I can really feel the stability in rough waters. They were easy to put on, the video on the site helped out a lot. I had a few question and the customer service team got back to me immediately, I’m overall very satisfied!

I bought two sets of these for the two SXR1500 skis we own. Was one of the must-have first upgrades to get to improve the handling for these skis. These 1500 skis are a handful. And the upgraded sponsons definitely help. No issues with quality or fit and finish. Very sturdy material. I’ve already recommended them to others out there..

This should be a day 1 purchase for your SXR 1500/160. I recently purchased an SXR and was severely frustrated by the side to side wobble I experienced. The instability was incredibly frustrating; slow speed stability was basically zero and as new rider to the SXR I wasn’t exactly riding wide open. I threw these after my first ride and went back out a few days later. What a difference it made! It felt planted, steered on rails, still easy enough for a newbie like me and gone was the chine walk. I cannot recommend these enough whether you’re a newbie like me or a seasoned rider! This is a MUST DO MODIFICATION!
