The weight drives more water into the pump tunnel for more hookup in the straights, and especially the corners. The increased weight also adds weight down low for better stability. - Will my ski accept a heavier intake grate?
Yes but understand that many skis may have thread inserts which may become ripped out. This is a big problem even with the stock intake grate as your ski ages. - Is this intake grate legal for racing?
Our RB300 intake grate is legal for racing. However, do your own research for the specifics in your class(es).
