Description

Our Extended Jet Pump Nozzle is 1″ longer than stock to offer better straight line hook up and drive. Also that longer nozzle will give you a tighter turning ratios, like a quick steer, but without making the turning action sensitive. The ProWatercraft Jet Nozzle has a couple mm smaller ID than the stock 85mm. Why did we make it smaller? Generally the size of the thrust outlet should be 4-6mm smaller than the steering nozzle. On the 550 (depending on the year) the thrust nozzle is 65mm and the stock steering nozzle is 85mm, 20mm difference! What we did is make it only 2mm smaller, but with it being 25mm( approximately 1″) longer this will help the rider feel the steering without having it become over sensitive.

Let’s talk about the inside shape of the pump nozzle,  does it matter? Yes! Typically steering nozzles are “bell” shaped. However the inside bell shape disrupts water flow which makes turning aggressive and not smooth. Our designer has come up with the best shape for this standup. When compared to stock you should feel a smoother transition into the turn and less hook in the middle of the turn. So, overall turning smoothness will improve.

Another advantage you will get is our proven hydrophobic surface. This is like ceramic coating on your vehicle; water just shoots off in record time! This hydrophobic surface speeds up the water, which you should feel acceleration and gain some top speed. Who would of thought a steering nozzle could offer so much? We did, we test, we ride and we will find an advantage to offer you!

This nozzle worked great on my 550SX and really woke up the steering!! I also paired it with the ProWatercraft 440/550 ride plate (which is also a 5-star product). Can’t say enough good things about this company!! Highly recommended products all around.

Another terrific product! I tried this on two Kawasakis: a 440 with a full aftermarket steering system and no hull mods, and a 550 with Pro Watercraft front & rear sponsons and ride plate and complete aftermarket steering. On both boats the steering is made effortless at the bars as the boat immediately responds with intention, and the feel is extremely precise because you have so much more repeatable control over steering angle. Because of that, it does feel just a touch twitchy at speed from minor steering inputs, but that can easily be solved by slowing down the steering at the turn plate if desired. I wouldn’t want this part updated to be any slower to overcome that feeling for the less aggressive riders – this is an aggressive part and should be used on a setup that can use it. Both boats having full aftermarket steering systems were complimented by this nozzle; the 550 turned very precisely and aggressively, and takes full advantage of all the grip and stability provided by the sponsons and ride plate, but the steering on the 440 without any hull mods was needlessly intense and forceful. Wait to purchase this part until after you’ve fully modded your steering and begun your hull mods – at the very least rear sponsons. ProWatercraft parts are all made with a very dense but flexy black material that is incredibly durable and forgiving, and so far on the first season of all the parts, looking brand new. I am very impressed with the quality of the parts from ProWatercraft and the improvements in handling are very effective with nearly no downsides. Excellent products!!
