Description
Our rideplate for the Kawasaki SX-R 1500 is engineered to bring you the best affordable performance on the market. Manufactured out of our Hybrid Flex Composite material, this ride plate offers tremendous handling improvements in all water conditions. It offers more grip than stock and other aftermarket ride plates, while also helping stabilize the ski. Our HFC material flexes and contours to the water creating a one of a kind, smooth, and controlled riding experience for the rider that you can not get with other styles of ride plates. Partnered with our SXR 1500 rear sponsons, you can greatly improve the stability of the SXR 1500.
What you need to know:
- The ride plate to pump bolts are not used.
Product fits: 2017+ Kawasaki SX-R 1500
Installation time: 10 minutes or less
- How do I install this correctly?
Due to the natural flex of our ride plates we require you use this plate with silicone around the bolt holes and Loctite on every bolt. This is also the industry standard on how all ride plates should be installed. - Do you reuse the pump bolts for the ride plate?
No, we developed the plate without the pump-to-ride-plate bolts. We have had no issues running it this way. You can modify the plate to install them but the warranty will be void. - Is this part legal to race with?
You will need to check the rules from your racing organization to verify if this part is legal for competition. ProWatercraft takes no responsibility if you are disqualified from this part breaking any racing organization rules.

Installed the prowatercraft ride plate on my sxr 1500 together with a skat trak intake grate
I used it only on a buoy circuit flat water lake but the ride plate improved noticebly the ride even if the std ride plate is not bad at all on the new sxr
I think that the sky felt a bit more natural but sharp and noticed and slightly better hook and even if it s something the sxr is aleady quiet good it reduced even more the slight nose jumping after a very tight turn when reaccelerating.
Another good thing is that this plate did not make any unwanted behaviour of the ski so everything feels slighly better but as natural and easy as the std ski.
I did not use it on rough water so cannot comment on that.

The SXR 1500 in stock form is a really balanced watercraft. Easy to ride, turn and fast as hell. It does everything pretty well but when you start pushing it, that’s where you start looking for some handling improvements. The most noticeable improvement needed is with turn in and turn exit handling. The stock set up works reasonably well for sweeper turns and works reasonably well turning off the nose. The difficulty was tying those two together.
A really well sorted out stand up watercraft gives you good straight line stability in flat and rough conditions. It will also allow for sweeping into a corner and then snap the apex off the nose with a little added steering input with a clean smooth transition. The stock sxr1500 with some added sponsons and an aftermarket intake grate will get you half way there but the Prowatercraft ride plate really finishes the job.
This ride plate with its relaxed v design really puts the pure joy of riding a stand up watercraft into the 1500 sxr. Any notion of “ a runabout with a handlepole” will absolutely go out the window. The edge to edge handling is awesome. Ripping into a corner on a sweep and then dropping the rail for an apex snap and a full throttle exit is predictable every time.
These guys did a great job in the design of this plate!
